Diet and Weight Loss – Low Fat or Full Fat?

Dietary Fats

Having grown up in the 80’s the low fat diet philosophy is deeply ingrained in my psyche.  Remember when SnackWells (TM) launched. Yay!  I can eat cookies and not feel guilty.  Wrong!  Think white flour, sugar and artificial flavors to make up for the lack of fat.

I have very mixed feelings about dairy as well.  On a deep level, I’m just not sure we are supposed to eat the lactating fluid of other animals…but even so, I love yogurt and cheese.  Conflicted.

Over the last few years I’ve noticed a shift to promoting saturated fats as part of a healthy diet.  I’ve read many articles and still find I try to avoid saturated fats…. old habits die hard.  Someone sent me this article on bewell.com about this topic and I thought it was interesting.  Check it out and let me know your stand on this.

How do you handle fats in your quest to be an ideal weight and feel healthy in your body?
